How to create and assign zones
Table of Contents
Creating zones
In LAFT you can create cleaning zones that can be grouped together into multiple rooms. A zone cannot cross between floors or buildings, and is designed for a specific floor. You can create as many zones as you want, and have multiple zones per floor if you wish.
To create zones, go to the cleaning module > Setup > Building Setup. Here, you must first select which building, and floor you want to create a zone for.
Next, you need to click on “New floor zone”. Here you will have the option to choose a name in a box above. You can give the zone any name, and click save. You will be able to see all your zones that belong to the selected floor in the drop-down menu for floor zones, where you can also edit and delete them.
Now we have created the zone. To add rooms to the zone, you must click on the room list. Here you will see a column called zone. When you click on the individual cell in the room list, you will have the option to add the zone that you just created for the floor the room is located on. If you have multiple zones for the floor, you will see them all here. You can also change or remove the room from the zone later by clearing the field and clicking on the blue save button.
Assign zones
In LAFT, you can assign a room to a cleaner, but to save time when assigning, you can also assign entire zones. In reality, you are assigning x number of rooms, but it is done in one assignment (one zone). To do this, the zones must be created in advance, as described above.
Click Setup > Cleaning Assignment. Then switch from "Show rooms by building" to "Show floor zones by building" in the table.
Here you will see all the zones in the selected building. You assign zones in the same way as when assigning a single room. You check the small box to the right of the table for the zone you want to assign. Then you have to scroll to the bottom of the page to create a schedule for the cleaner/assignment.
Here you must select a cleaner, and customize which days the cleaner is available. Set a start date for when the assignment will be valid from, and possibly an end date. If you do not set an end date, the assignment will be ongoing, until it is deleted manually. Remember to press “Assign” for it to be saved.
