The different object types in LAFT: How can you use the different object types? Create and manage objects Buildings Access control

Are you completely new to the system and need to enter many buildings/rentals or rooms? Then it is more efficient to enter buildings via an import from Excel. Contact us at support@laft.io, or find our import templates here.

The different object types in LAFT:

  • Unit
  • Property
  • Building
  • Story
  • Rental object
  • Room
  • Facility
  • Outdoor area

How can you use the different object types?

Unit is the top level in the property structure, and is only used as a way to group properties and associated objects. Units are not available anywhere else than in the property structure, e.g. you cannot create routines or work orders on a unit. All other object types are available when creating work orders and routines, also via MittBygg if the administrator activates this under MittBygg > Settings. You can also enter documents at all levels. It is important to note that the Fire Book is only available for buildings. Object types that are used in multiple modules (for example rental properties and rooms) are automatically synchronized. So when you create a room in the cleaning module, it is automatically available in the operation and maintenance module and vice versa.

Create and manage objects

All objects can be created and managed from the property structure. NOTE: In order to create rental objects, your area must have a subscription to the rental module. Only users with the role of Property Manager or Administrator can create rental objects.

  1. You can access the Property Structure directly from the home page, as well as in the menu at the top left when you are in the system

  1. Inside the property structure, at the top left, you will find a gray field that says "Filter". You can click on this field to show or hide the filter. Below this field, you have a checkbox that says "Automatically show associated sub-units". When this is checked, you will always see associated units under what you have selected in the filter. For example: if the box is checked and you choose to show a building, you will also see all sub-objects that are associated with this building. It can be a floor, rental object, room or facility.

  2. You have a drop-down menu per object type. You can check exactly what you want to see, both multiple units, and object types at the same time. You can therefore choose to see a specific building and a specific facility at the same time, even if these are not linked to each other. What you have selected in the filter will appear at the bottom of the page, and the plus sign on the left side of the object you click on to see the associated sub-units (depending on whether you have checked the box to show associated sub-units).

  3. To create a new, freestanding property, building, outdoor area, or facility, use the gray "New" button located below the filters.

  1. You will then see a window where you can fill in information about the object.

  2. Properties, buildings, outdoor areas and facilities can be created as independent units that do not need to be linked to another object.

  3. If you are going to create a floor, a room or a rental property, you must do this in connection with the level above.

  • A floor can only be created on a building.
  • A room can only be created on one floor.
  • A rental property can only be created on a building.
  • To create a floor, first find the building the floor belongs to in the filter. Once you have selected the building, scroll down and right-click on the building.

Buildings

Buildings also have their own overview. Go to Settings, and "Buildings". Here you will find both an overview of your existing buildings in addition to having a shortcut to create a new building.

To edit a building, go to the overview, find the building in the table and click on the three lines on the far right of the table. You will then be given the choice of viewing, editing or disabling the building. If your area subscribes to Boligmappa and you have activated project integration with LAFT, you can also see projects from Boligmappa.

Copying building accesses
When you create or edit a building, it is possible to copy user access from a building where you have already customized access. This saves you time.

Access control

The property structure in settings is accessible to users with the roles Administrator, Manager, Property Manager, and Department Manager Cleaning.

  • Properties are available to all users.
  • All users have access to independent outdoor areas and independent facilities.
  • Buildings must be assigned access to users, either individually or via teams. This is done either within the building or by the user.
  • Access to objects located below buildings is controlled by building access. This means that if a user has access to a building, they automatically have access to underlying rooms, floors, facilities, etc.
