Upload and mark up a floor plan
Floor plans can be uploaded to LAFT so that they can be used in the cleaning app, and they can also be used in work orders in the operations and maintenance module.
Table of Contents
Floor plans must be in image format (.png, .jpg, .gif) to be used in LAFT. This means they cannot be in PDF or DWG. If the file is already in the document archive, but in the wrong format (e.g. PDF), you can right-click on the file > Settings > Convert to jpg (administrator only). This will save a copy of the file in the same folder as the original, but you can move the file by dragging it to another folder if you need to. The file must be in the “Drawings” folder to be used in the cleaning module. To be able to link a floor plan to a floor in the cleaning module, you must first have entered a room list. |
The first step is to upload the drawing to the document archive. To find this, go to the main menu, which you can always find in the top left corner when you are logged in, and click on Document archive:
Find the building the floor plan belongs to in the drop-down menu.
If you cannot find the building, you may not have access to it. You can check this by going to your user. Go to “Users” in the menu on the left and “Overview”. Find your user and click on the three lines on the right, then “Edit”. If you scroll down the page, you will see an overview of buildings in your area. Check the ones you should have access to. If your user can't change access, you must contact your administrator.
In the building's document archive, the floor plan must be uploaded to the green folder called "Drawings". Right-click on the folder and click "Upload files":
Click inside the square to open your file explorer, or drag the file directly in. Then click “Upload”. You can upload multiple files. the departure. When you are finished, click out of the window.
Now that the floor plan is in the document archive, it is ready to be used in the cleaning module.
- Go to the cleaning module and click on “Setup”->”Building Setup”
- Select the building the floor plan belongs to and the floor. Then click “Edit” under the floor.
- At the bottom of “Floor Plan” you will find the floor plan you just uploaded to the Document Archive. If it is not here, you have uploaded it to the wrong folder.
- Select the drawing, then click “Save.” The drawing will now appear under “Floor Plan” further down the page:
Mark the floor plan

When the floor plan is linked to a floor, you need to select the floor plan to link the rooms together. To do this, use the controls on the left. There are two different ways to select rooms, either with the square if the room is a square, or the polygon if the room has a different shape or multiple walls.
Marking with a square
Click on the square. Then drag the mouse pointer to a corner of a room and hold the mouse pointer to drag the room out to the correct size. You can select multiple rooms in a row. When you have selected all the square rooms you want, click “Cancel”. The rooms you have drawn will be red. Click on them to link them to the correct room in the room list. You must do this so that cleaners can click on the floor plan to perform cleaning.
Marking with polygon
Click on the polygon that is above the square. Then drag the mouse pointer to the corner of a room and click. You will have your first point. Then drag the mouse pointer to the next point and click again. Continue this process until you have gone around the entire room. You can have as many or as few points as you want, depending on the shape of the room. For example, if the room is oval, you should use many points to draw the correct shape. You can either click on the room to link it to a room in the room list, or you can click on the polygon again to draw a new room.
