The LAFT app for Cleaning
In this guide, we will walk you through how to download and use the cleaning app. The cleaning app contains everything the cleaner needs to view and sign off on their cleaning throughout the workday.
Table of Contents
The LAFT app consists of several parts, and what you see depends on your role:
- Admin : Construction operations, Checklists, MittBygg and Cleaning
- Executor / Manager : Construction management, Checklists
- User : MyBuilding
- Dept. cleaning manager / Cleaner : Cleaning, MittBygg
You can report and process work orders via both Byggdrift and MittBygg, but they look a little different to the user, and there are more accesses in Byggdrift than in MittBygg. When reporting a case in Byggdrift, you can use the roles administrator or performer to set a deadline, select the performer and the type of action. This is not possible in MittBygg – here you can only set the priority and select the type of action that represents a deviation.
It is appropriate that people have the right role and use the “right” part of the app, because the reported cases are processed from different places by the manager/admin. MittBygg is also far easier and faster to use for building users in their daily lives.
Cases from Construction will be placed in the “Other” tab in the Inbox , while cases from MittBygg will be placed in the MittBygg tab. This is to distinguish where cases actually originate. Once they have been given a deadline and assigned to a contractor, they will be treated in the same way by the person assigned to them – regardless of where the case was reported from.

Instructions for use for the cleaning app
In the cleaning app, you can view your own or others' cleaning, acknowledge completed cleaning, read cleaning instructions, read messages and see a calendar view.

Example of the cleaning app opened from a mobile.
It provides a quick overview of today's cleaning.
- The three lines at the top left allow you to switch between the Cleaning app and MittBygg (the registration portal). See separate instructions on how to use MittBygg .
- Here you also have shortcuts to app settings, the help center, and the log out function.
- The Inbox button shows the number of nonconformance messages and comments that have been registered on the current day. The number is reset at midnight. A list of comments and nonconformances becomes visible when the button is pressed.
- Press the cleaning check button when you want to perform a manual check of the cleaning performed.
- The calendar icon takes you to the cleaning calendar for the selected cleaning user, which is a monthly calendar view of assigned cleaning. In the cleaning calendar, you see a consolidated view of cleaning across all buildings.
- The Select User button allows you to select another cleaner to view the cleanings of. This is a nice “substitute” feature, allowing you to choose to view other users’ assigned cleanings.
- The white date button allows you to select which day you want to see assigned cleanings for. You can both view and perform cleanings forward and backward in time. Note that performed cleanings are date stamped with the actual date the cleaning was performed.
- You can decide what to display in the cleaning list by adjusting the filter. This is done by clicking the “Filter” button :
- It opens a menu of filter options where you can specify what you want the cleaning app to display. The default filter setting is:
- Show floor plan – If a floor plan/floor plan exists, it will be displayed. Does not apply to mobiles in portrait view due to lack of space on the screen.
- View My Assigned Rooms – Rooms assigned to the current cleaner.
- Hide Unassigned Rooms – Rooms that do not have cleaning assigned will be hidden.
- Hide Rooms Assigned to Others – Rooms assigned to other cleaners will be hidden.
- Show Completed Rooms – Rooms that have had cleaning performed.
- Under the filter button, the number of rooms per cleaning class for the selected building is displayed (see below for how to select a building). A cleaning class must be selected in order to be able to get a list of rooms and then acknowledge the cleaning performed. If you have assigned cleaning in multiple classes, you must switch between them to display the cleaning.
- The gray My Rooms - Other People's Rooms button can be clicked to view details about the rooms for the selected cleanliness class.
- The Select building button is only displayed if the selected cleaning user has cleaning duties spread across multiple buildings. Press the button and select the building you want to see assigned cleaning duties for.
- The building name is displayed at the bottom. Click on the building name to view the floors and rooms that have been assigned cleaning. NB: Remember to select the correct cleaning class first (daily, periodic, etc.).
View and acknowledge completed cleaning
The cleaning app automatically opens on today's date, showing rooms assigned to the logged-in cleaner on that day.
- Make sure you have selected the correct cleaning user and date.
- Click on the cleaning class you want to see the room list for (Daily, Periodic,…).
- If you have cleaning services spread across multiple buildings, select the correct building.
- To view the room list:
- Click on the building name
- Click on floor
- Select the correct floor zone (if relevant)
- You now have the room list showing assigned cleaning.
- Click on the room in question to acknowledge that the cleaning has been completed. You can either click in the room list, or click on the room in the floor plan. You will see that the room has been cleaned by the room number being crossed out in the room list, and it being colored green in the floor plan.
If you have cleaning services in different buildings, you must select one building at a time to see the associated rooms.
See cleaning instructions, or report a discrepancy in a room
You can get more information about a room or report a discrepancy by clicking and holding on the room in the room list or on the floor plan. If you don't see the floor plan, you can also click on the symbol to the right of the room in the room list:

A window with four tabs appears:
- Info > Shows detailed information about the room and cleaning, as well as the room's cleaning schedule.
- Description > If cleaning instructions or other information have been entered, it can be read here.
- Comment > Displays a list of all registered comments and deviations for the selected room. Includes a button “ New comment/deviation ”.
- Quality Profile > Provides a general guide to the quality level of the selected room.
What do the symbols in the room list in the cleaning app mean?
In the room list you will see various symbols that help you understand who the room is assigned to and what priority it has.

Priority symbols:
Green “L” means low priority
Yellow “M” means medium priority
Red “H” means high priority. Click here to bring up the modal with more information about the room, including the room's calendar.
Room priority can be edited by the department manager under Building layout on the web. Click on “Setup” in the side menu, then “Building layout”. Here you select the building, floor and finally the room you want to edit, and click the “Edit” button under the room field. |
Symbols for award:
The person symbol shows that the room is assigned to you, or the cleaner for whom you are viewing the cleaning schedule.
A person symbol with a cross indicates that the room is not assigned to a cleaner.
The group symbol shows that the room is assigned to another cleaner.
