Creating contract templates
This guide shows how to create contract templates in LAFT.
You can also use Letter Templates as contract templates. Letter templates have many more variables to choose from. See instructions here. The only thing is that letter templates cannot be signed electronically for now. |
In the side menu on the left, click Templates, then click Contract template:
Here you will find an overview of the contract templates that have been created on your site. Click on “New Template” in the top right corner.
Create a name for the new contract template and click “Create Contract Template”. When you have made changes to the template, remember to always click “Update Contract Template”. Once you have done this, you can click “Template Preview” to see how it will look with the changes you have made. We recommend that you use the V2 template, which is the latest in design.
At the top under “All sections” you will see the sections you create yourself. Sections 1–7 are standard, and are automatically filled in by LAFT when the contract is created for a tenancy (see the preview to see these sections).
Create your paragraph. Enter a title for the paragraph. Then fill in the text that will appear in the paragraph and click “Create paragraph”.
Click on the information icon to see how you can retrieve information from the lease and add it to the section. These fields can be automatically merged into the text when the contract is created on the lease:
The paragraph you created is added to “All paragraphs", but you can easily change the order by dragging this symbol:
Any sections you create will appear below the standard sections in the contract itself, but above the signature fields.
Can't find all the variables you need for the contract template? It is also possible to use letter templates as contract templates. There are many more variables available. See instructions here. The only thing is that letter templates cannot be signed electronically for now. |
