Electronic signing of lease contracts
In this guide, we explain how to use electronic signing of lease contracts in the rental module. Instead of sending the tenant mail or email, you can sign the lease together with the tenant directly on a PC or tablet. It is possible to sign with both signature and BankID. Access to this must be activated on your site. Contact support@laft.io for more information about this.

Have you created a contract template? If not, you must do so first. You do this in the rental module > Miscellaneous > Contract templates. |
How to generate rental agreement for electronic signature
In the rental module, find the rental agreement you want to create a contract for, and click on the tenant to bring up options for the rental agreement. Then click “Lease Agreement (New e-signing):

You can change the name of the lease if desired, and add any users who should be notified when it is signed, as well as enter a deadline for signing. In the menu at the top right, you can see a preview of the contract, or send it directly for signing:
You can either choose to sign now, or to send for signature:
- If you select “Send for signature”, the contract will be sent to both parties by email. Not sure if the tenant is registered with an email address? Proceed as follows: Tenants > Click on the three lines to the right of the tenant > Edit > Here you will see the tenant's email address.
- If you select “Sign now” you can sign immediately together with the tenant.
Select “Click here to sign the document” on the party who is to sign. This will bring up the lease and allow you to read through it. If you choose to sign with a signature, the actual signing is done either with your finger on the tablet/phone, or with the mouse pointer on a PC. If you choose to sign with BankID, follow the instructions that appear from BankID.
Click on “Sign now”. If signing with BankID is enabled, you will come here first, but you can switch to signing with a signature by clicking on “Signing options”.
If signing is to be done with a signature, you will receive a message stating that a touchscreen is required. You can choose whether to send a link to sign the contract to the tenant by email, or click on “sign on this computer”.
You can always check the status of the signing by going back to the e-signature page. It will show whether the parties have signed or not. You can also send reminders and revoke the contract.
Once both parties have signed, a page with both signatures will be added. Scroll all the way down the page to download the document. In addition, it will be logged in the lease log and added to the lease document archive. You will also receive an email notification that the contract has been signed.
