NS-INSTA 800 requires that the premises be inspected at least once a quarter. The visual inspection is carried out by taking random samples of a number of rooms and assessing the quality achieved, as well as the execution of the cleaning. It is the size of the premises that determines how many collections of impurities can be accepted.

Cleaning checks are carried out in the cleaning app. Here's how to proceed:

  • Go to the cleaning app. You can do this both in the app on your phone/tablet or on the web version.
  • Click on “For cleaning inspection” and select the building you want to carry out an inspection on.

  • Click on New check. This will bring up a screen where you can choose how long ago the cleaning should have been carried out, which you want to include in the check. 5 hours is the maximum, as there is no point in checking cleaning that was carried out a long time ago, considering that dirt may have occurred in the meantime.
If you check “Complete inspection”, all rooms that have been cleaned within the building’s time frame will be included in the inspection. If you do not check this box, LAFT will give you a random selection of rooms. You can see the selection (number of rooms) in the overview below. Finally, click “Start inspection”.
  • Now the inspection begins. Click on the floor you are on. This will bring up the rooms that have been cleaned and are included in the inspection. If you are using floor plans, this will also be displayed. Click on the room you are going to inspect – you can either click on the room name in the room list on the left or on the drawing. In the example below, we click on room 104 Play/recreation room.
  • Once you have clicked on the room, you will be taken to a page where you will score the various object groups in the room according to INSTA-800.

For example, you can start by clicking on the row “Inventory”, and set scores according to how well the cleaning has been carried out. In some cells you should score with numbers (marked with #), while in others, e.g. Surface dirt LT it is %.
During an inspection, not every instance of waste/loose dirt, dust and stains in the premises should be counted. Instead, impurities of the same type should be recorded in clusters. This should be done within an area of 0.5 meters x 0.5 meters (i.e. 0.25 m2) on each of the object groups. Here, a distinction is made between easily accessible places and difficult-to-access places.

NS-Insta 800 involves 6 different quality levels, where 5 is the highest and 1 is the lowest. The quality levels are determined based on the size of the room, the quality levels set for the individual surfaces in the room and whether the surfaces are easily accessible or difficult to reach.
When you have finished scoring all the object groups, you can add your own comments, and finally click on “Submit and finish checking”.
Then you go back and repeat this in all the rooms that are included in the control.
  • When you are done with all the rooms, you will see the result:

  • To find the report/control itself, go back to the web version, and select Cleaning Control in the menu > Overview.
Here you will find the control, and you can view it, or download it in PDF format.
